Born in Germany and raised in California, Erica Goss served as Poet Laureate of Los Gatos from 2013-2016. She is the author of Wild Place (2012, Finishing Line Press) and Vibrant Words: Ideas and Inspirations for Poets (2014, Pushpen Press). As Poet Laureate for Los Gatos, she organized the first St. Patrick’s Day Poetry Walk, created Poems-in-the-Window (local businesses displayed poems during National Poetry Month), recorded The Poetry Podcast (50-plus recordings of poems in a variety of languages), established the first Los Gatos Poet Laureate Scholarship, and launched The Poetry Kitchen, a series at the Los Gatos Library.

YOUTH POETRY WORKSHOP

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8th • LOS GATOS YOUTH RECREATION CENTER 1pm-2pm $20 suggested donation

As 2015 Poet Laureate for Los Gatos, Erica organized the first St. Patrick’s Day Poetry Walk, established the first Los Gatos Poet Laureate Scholarship, and launched The Poetry Kitchen, a poetry reading series at the Los Gatos Library. This two-hour poetry workshop is for pre-teen and teen students aged 11-18. The workshop will teach students to expand their writing and observation skills with the use of digital images as writing inspiration. Students will write poems based on images they make themselves. RSVP and registration necessary.
